It's numbered, but I don't know too much more about it.
My parents paid about $35 to $50 for it in Prescott, Arizona, about 50 years ago.
APPRAISER: Well, you're absolutely right.
It's signed and numbered on the bottom of the rim on the inside.
It's a reverse-painted Handel shade.
This is meant for a table lamp, though.
So, the fact that it's hanging, and the price of the hanging equipment is about probably $10 to $20, okay?
At auction, the value of the shade would be about $2,500 to $3,500.
But it needs to be mounted on a table base... GUEST: On a table lamp?
Okay.
APPRAISER: Exactly, rather than hanging, because the weight just can't support it that well.
GUEST: No, yeah.
APPRAISER: And it's starting to scratch along the, um, the top edge.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: So I would take care of it very carefully.
GUEST: I will hang it someplace else.
