Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipMy name is Daniel Rodriguez and I am the first undocumented attorney in Arizona.
Well, I'm actually from Monterey, Mexico and I was born in Monterrey.
I have family in Durango and also some family in Texas.
I don't remember a lot of the travel and and crossing of the border.
Our trip was not planned.
We were running away from my dad because every now and then I would come home and see my mom being beat.
When we got to Phoenix we ended up living in a, in a, a garage.
I remember that when I was in high school my counselor told me about this program called the Dream Act, and individuals like myself that grew up here can continue to work and thereby helping their families, going to school living somewhat of a normal life, and that helped a lot of individuals, including myself and that dream that I had which I don't believe that I would've been able to do with without the DACA program.
