Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- Welcome to Inpact at Home, where we practice interrupting prolonged sitting with activity.
I'm Jamie Chester and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of movement can do for you and the rest of your family, so you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up and let's start moving.
All right friends, we are gonna play a game, it is called Beans on Toast.
All right, all you need for this super silly game, is yourself and your listening ears on, because I am going to say different types of beans and they're gonna mean different types of silly things and we're gonna get to move around a lot and have a lot of fun.
All right, if you are ready to play, say oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
All right, let's do a little stretch before we play.
Reach down to your toes.
Great, reach up high to the sky, and you're gonna shake all those sillies out, just shake it out for a second.
All right, here we go.
So the way that we play Beans on Toast, is I'm going to say a command and you just have to follow whatever that command is.
So, when I say green beans, green means go, you're gonna job in place.
This is green beans.
When I say red beans, you stop 'cause red means stop, right.
All right, let's practice those two together.
Green beans.
Red beans.
Green beans.
Go as fast as you can.
Red beans.
All right, the next bean that I'm going to call out is chili beans.
When I say chili beans, you're gonna act like you're freezing because it's chilly outside.
Let me see your chili bean.
Brrrr.
And then when I say dancing bean, what do you think you're gonna do?
Yeah, you're gonna dance.
So this is dancing bean.
And you can dance all around your space wherever you wanna go.
All right, dancing beans, red bean.
Okay, for the final bean, I'm going to say beans on toast, and when I say that, you're gonna have to get down on the floor as low as you can, as quickly as possible.
All right, if you're ready, give me two thumbs up.
I'm going to go grab my yoga mat so that I can lay down on the floor.
Again, you can lay down on a couch, you can lay down on the floor like me.
If you just want to do like a squat and get down as low as you can, that's okay too.
All right friends, let's do a practice round, here we go.
Green bean.
Red bean.
Green bean.
Dancing bean.
Chili bean.
Brrrr.
Green bean.
Beans on toast!
All right, let's try it again.
Everyone knows the different actions now, so we're gonna go a little bit quicker.
And here we go.
Green beans.
Green beans.
Go as fast as you can.
Green beans.
Red beans.
Red beans.
Chili beans.
Dancing beans.
Chili bean.
Beans on toast!
Dancing bean.
Come on let's get up and dance.
Chili bean.
Dancing bean.
Chili bean.
Beans on toast!
Ahh!
(giggling) Green bean, green bean, let's go, let's go.
Green bean.
Beans on toast!
Green bean, come on let's get up.
Green bean, green bean.
Chili bean.
Red bean.
Chili bean, brrrr.
Red bean.
Chili bean.
Beans on toast!
Green bean.
Instead of jogging in place, let's job around in a circle.
Green bean, green bean.
Green bean.
Red bean.
Green bean.
Red bean.
Green bean.
Beans on toast!
All right friends, don't stay down for too long, get up and let's do, green bean.
Dancing bean.
Chili bean.
Red bean.
Red bean.
Keep on freezing.
Green bean.
Let's go again in another circle.
Green bean, green bean, one more time around.
And beans on toast!
All right friends, let's come get on up slowly, you can stand up, walk back to your space.
All right, let's take a nice volcano breath.
We're gonna put our arms up here, breathe in, and out.
Let all the lava spill out.
Let's try it again.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Let all of the lava spill out.
All right friends, thanks so much for playing Beans on Toast.
Think about another time that you can play that game.
You could play it outside, you can play it in your living room.
Think about who you can play it with.
You can play it with a parent, you can play it with a brother or a sister, and you can take turns calling out the different commands and the different actions.
You can even think of new different kinds of beans and different actions that go with it.
All right, before we leave, we're gonna give ourselves an appreciation clap, and that's something that we do to show our appreciation to one another.
I appreciate that you came and played with me today.
So we are going to give ourselves the DJ clap.
The way that that goes is we're going to clap on the count of three, and we have on our headset, we're gonna tilt to the side a little bit and go fricka fricka fresh.
All right, DJ clap on three.
One, two, three.
(claps) Fricka fricka fresh.
I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
