I'm Jamie Chester, and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of moving can do for you and the rest of your family, so you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up, and let's start moving.
All right, friends.
I'm so happy that you're here with me today.
We are gonna play some fun games.
We're gonna start with our first game just to warm us up.
We're gonna play coach says, all right?
So coach says, touch your head.
Coach says, touch your shoulders.
Touch your knees.
Oh, good job, nice try, coach didn't say.
Let's try it again.
Coach says, touch your toes.
Coach says, put your hands up high in the air.
Coach says, wiggle your arms around.
Coach says, cross your arms like this.
Touch your toes.
Good job, nice try, coach didn't say.
Let's do one more round.
Coach says, jump up one time.
Coach says, jump up two times.
Jump one time.
Ah, good job.
Nice try.
All right, now that we're warmed up a little bit, we are gonna play one of my favorite games to play at home.
It doesn't take a lot of equipment.
All you're going to need is something soft that you can throw up in the air.
So it can be a crumpled up piece of paper like this.
This is what I'm going to use.
We could use like a little soft ball like this or a bean bag or a little stuffed animal.
Whatever you have that's soft that you can throw up in the air, that's not going to hurt yourself or anything or anyone else around you.
So I will give you 10 seconds, 10 seconds to go and find your item.
You don't have to rush, I'll give you plenty of time, you have 10 nice long seconds to go and find your item.
And then you can come on back and just have it in your hands ready to go, all right?
10, nine, eight, seven, six, five.
All right, I see some of my friends have it, four, three, two, one, and zero.
All right, you can grab your item.
I'm going to use this piece of paper and what's gonna happen in this game is you want to try and throw it up in the air and catch it.
All right, let's practice just with that, okay?
That's why it's called popcorn 'cause when you throw it up, that looks like a piece of popcorn popping up into the air.
All right, so let's try and throw it, it doesn't have to be very high.
So I'll throw it and catch it, here we go.
There we go.
Perfect, one more time.
Oh, I dropped it, that's okay.
I'm just gonna pick it up and then we'll try it one more time again.
All right.
If you didn't catch it, that's okay, you can keep on trying when we play this next round.
All right, so this time what you're going to do is you're going to throw it up in the air and try and clap before you catch it.
I'll show you an example.
One, like that, and I'm gonna count my claps.
So let's try one clap again.
One.
One.
One.
All right, now, if you have the hang of that, you can try two claps or three, or maybe even four, sometimes even five.
But I've never even gotten to five, that's like a world record.
So we're gonna give ourselves about 30 seconds or so and we're just gonna practice and see how many claps we can get, all right?
And if you don't do any claps yet, that's okay, too.
All right, I'm going to just try my best and you try your best and then we'll come back and see what number we got to, all right?
One, two, one, two, one, two.
Oh, I'm gonna try, you keep trying.
One, two, one, two, three.
Oh, one, two.
One, two.
One, two.
Keep on trying.
One, two, three.
I got to four.
Oh, good job, friends, let's keep on trying.
Oh, I dropped it.
That's okay.
Oh, I almost caught it.
Let's keep going.
Whoa, that one went wild.
All right, you keep playing, friends, I'm gonna try with a bigger item and see if I can do it again with this one.
Whoa.
Oh.
All right, 30 more seconds, friends.
Keep on trying.
I got to three.
All right, give yourselves 10 more seconds, I'll count down for you.
10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, and one.
All right, round of applause.
Thanks everyone.
Raise your hand if you were able just to catch your item.
Raise your hand if you got one clap, two claps, whoa, three claps, four claps, five claps.
I didn't get to five, but if you did, great.
And if not, you can keep on trying like I did with different items and just do your best until you get your own personal best record.
All right, before we go, we're gonna take a deep breath in, breathe in and out.
All right, and we are going to end with the super clap.
All right, this one's a little silly.
You're gonna take out your bowl of soup and you're going to go super, all right?
We're gonna count to three, clap, and then do our super.
Here we go, one, two, three, super.
I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
