Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(gentle music) - Aren't these so cute?
- They're just cups.
- You just don't see the vision.
- You know, the price of all of this is probably near what you made.
- But it's so much more fun this way.
Did you set the speaker up?
- Yes, and the playlist, and the bedazzled shoebox, and I posted the invite on my close friend's story.
- Okay, I think we're all set.
Watch the door while I fix my makeup.
- Charlie will be here in a second, he's gonna help me watch the door.
I thought you were already done.
- Meh.
- You know it's okay if you don't make everything you need by tonight, I can always just lend you the money?
- Come on, it's a party.
(knocking on door) (gentle music) (coins drop) - Dude.
- [Charlie] Hey.
- Hey.
Okay, you can put me down.
- Okay, sorry.
How'd it going in there?
- Honestly, I would not know.
(people chattering) (dramatic music) - Ah, Eve, it's been so long.
- Dude, how have you been?
- Ugh, other than this whole rent thing, never better.
- How did you get so broke?
You aren't trying to scam us, are you?
- As much as I would love to steal all your hard earned $5, I'm broke.
- Aren't we all?
- I wasn't, then I went to the vintage store, and I got this top and these jeans that fit perfectly.
- Girl, you went broke for a pair of jeans?
- Well, the jeans and the dress, and the scarf and the sweater.
But work's been so dead.
I had four dead shifts in a row, and now I'm relying on the kindness of my dear, dear friends.
- Oh, you're full of it.
- Now, who wants shots?
(upbeat music) (people chattering) Hey, hey, hey, cut it out, cut it out!
- Everyone has to pay the cover fee, it said so on the invite.
- Well, I didn't see anything about a cover fee on the class story, so I think you're being unfair.
- I'm sorry, did you say class story?
Charlie, I'm going to give you a very important job.
Make sure everyone pays.
- Of course.
- Okay, I'm just gonna leave you guys to that, but promise no more fighting.
- He's cool.
- I don't even know you guys.
Hope everyone's having fun.
I'm just curious, how did you guys hear about this party?
- Oh, I saw it on Claire's close friends story.
- [Brooke] Oh, great, I know Claire.
- Yeah, I just saw it on Jason's story.
- [Brooke] Oh no.
- Well, I got the invite from you, but I may have sent it to a few friends who definitely posted it on some other platforms.
- [Brooke] Other platforms?
- Oh yeah, I saw it on the class story.
- Oh no.
(upbeat music) Hey, girlies, I was just wondering if- - Brooke, get out!
(upbeat music) (poker chips rattling) - You gonna call or fold?
- I fold.
- I don't think this is allowed.
(guys laughing) - You looked really cool.
- Thanks, I'm good at bluffing.
- Things are getting crazy.
Someone put the invite on our class story.
We don't even go to school anymore.
- You wanted a party.
- Yeah, but I think we're in fire hazard territory.
- Look, I tried to tell you, this was going to get out of hand.
- Things were going fine until everyone showed up.
Huh?
- The money we spend cleaning all this up is going to be at least half of what we make.
- Wait, who's watching the door?
- Charlie took over.
- Charlie?
Please tell me you've been doing your job.
- Eve, I haven't seen you all night, oh my God, are you having fun?
Oh, you gotta met my boys.
This is Jason and this is.
- Charlie!
Have you been collecting everyone's $5?
- Of course, we just had a lot of people for a bit, that's all.
- Okay.
I'm sorry, I just.
You said you were doing your job!
(Charlie yelling) - [Charlie] Hold on a second.
- Okay, we need to calm down.
- What are we gonna do?
Someone's probably gonna call the cops, you've seen the neighbors across the street, they hate us already.
- Eve, it's all right, just calm down.
We just got- - How could I be calm when you two lost the money?
- We did not lose the money, and even if we did, it's not our job to play bouncer for you.
- Look at all those people inside, we were gonna make so much.
- And it's not gonna matter if the cops come, so you need to lock in.
- Why are you mad at me when you're the one who's ruined things?
- I have done nothing but help you all night, despite my protests, I've been out here keeping your party in check and you're yelling me?
- You did play poker for a bit.
(people chattering) Hey guys, so I think we need to bring this party to a close.
(everyone booing) Don't boo me.
You all look 18, it's probably past your bedtimes.
(people chattering) Why won't you leave?
- 'Cause we're having so much fun.
Sip.
One more sip.
I'm gonna throw up.
(knocks on door) - Natalie!
Open up.
(knocks on door) I know I messed up and I'm sorry, and I'll clean everything up, but people aren't leaving.
You're smart and scary, I need your help.
- I won't make you clean all of it up.
(people chattering) - Hey everybody!
The cops are on their way.
- The cops don't care, this is a college town.
- Well, look, here they are now.
- Scatter!
(everyone yelling) (aluminum cans crushing) (police sirens) (everyone yelling) (police sirens continue) - Okay, you can come back in now.
- How'd I do?
- Perfect.
- That was incredible.
- Thanks, I was gonna do it anyway, but it was nice to have your help.
- All that and we still lost the money.
- No, it's in Natalie's room.
- Don't look so surprised.
I tried to tell you and then you kept beating up Charlie.
It just didn't make sense to leave it out in the open.
- And you wanted to go play poker.
- Yeah, I made a lot of money.
- Thank you guys.
- We've always got your back.
- Sorry.
- It's okay.
- Now, Charlie and I are gonna go get Waffle House.
Have fun.
(upbeat music)
