I'm Jamie Chester, and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of moving can do for you and the rest of your family, so you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up, and let's start moving.
All right, friends, today, we are going to play one of my favorite games, and it is called four corners.
Raise your hand if you've played this game before, raise your hand if you haven't played this game before.
All right, so either if you have, or you haven't, that's okay, we're gonna go over the ways that we're going to play this game today.
But before we do that, I wanna make sure that everyone is ready.
So if you can match me, match me, match me, match me, match me, match me, match me, match me, match me, and match me.
All right, two thumbs up if you're ready.
Cool, so the way that we're going to play four corners is first, we all have to create our corners.
So whatever space you're in, I want you to right now, point to four different corners.
If you don't have four corners exactly, that's okay, just find four different spots in your space that you can stand to and go to, and make sure that they aren't too close together, that you're spreading them out far apart from one another.
All right, so I'll show you how I'm going to make my four corners.
I have combs so if you have pillows or anything that can be like a marker or like a spacer so you can see where your spots are, you can set those out, or if you just wanna point to them, you can do that too.
All right, so we're going to make our four corners together.
This is one, this is two, this is three, and this is four.
All right, I'll give you a few more seconds to make your corners.
Let's do five, four, three, two, and one.
All right, if you have your four corners, let me see you point to them and we'll count together.
One more time.
One, two, three, four.
All right, how about we practice going to our corners.
Corner one, show me corner one.
Corner two, show me corner two.
Corner three over here, corner three, and corner four.
All right, now that we know where our corners are, what's going to happen in this game is that I'm going to turn around, close my eyes, and I'm gonna count down from 10 to one.
And as I'm counting, I want you to go find one of your corners and stay at that corner.
And then when I'm all done counting, I'm gonna say a corner.
And if you're at the corner that I say, good job, nice try, but you're not going to get out.
Instead, you're just going to do three I'm awesomes which is like this.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
And then you can get back in the game and try again.
If you're ready, let me see you touch your shoulders.
If you're ready, point up to the ceiling.
If you're ready, point down to your toes.
All right, let's do a practice round.
And instead of turning around, I'm just gonna close my eyes.
Here we go.
10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, find your corner.
Four, three, two, one, freeze, corner two.
If you're in corner two, good job, nice try.
Let's do the I'm awesomes together.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, let's try again.
I'm gonna spin around this time, to make it a little bit more fun.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, corner three.
If you are in corner three, good job, nice try, let's do the I'm awesomes.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
Yeah, you're awesome.
All right, let's do a couple more rounds.
10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, freeze.
Corner one, who is in corner one?
Good job, nice try.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, my corner one friends, you can get back in the game.
Let's do two more rounds, here we go.
10, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
Corner one, if you are in corner one, good job, nice try.
All right, I tried to be a little tricky there by calling out corner one twice.
Let's do our last round.
If you were in corner one, let's do the I'm awesomes.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, everyone's back in for our last round.
Here we go.
10, nine, eight, seven, six.
I'm gonna go a little bit faster.
Five, four, three, two, one.
All of the corners, I got you there.
It was all of the corners, so everyone, let's do the I'm awesomes.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, thank you, everyone for playing today.
We're gonna do a nice deep breath.
So we're going to pretend that it's our birthday or any type of celebration that you wanna celebrate.
And we're gonna take out our cake and we're going to smell it and then blow out the candle, here we go.
Smell that cake, blow out the candle, all right.
I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
