Advocates push for federal assistance to push people out of poverty and food insecurity
Local leaders gathered in Trenton Friday in an effort to fight food insecurity. Trenton Area Soup Kitchen hosted an event to raise awareness as part of Hunger Action Day. The soup kitchen provides 10,000 meals a week to people in need. Advocates point to critical federal programs, like SNAP, and say they will push for more federal assistance in the future.
