Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(birds chirping) (child laughing) - Welcome to InPACT@Home where we practice interrupting prolonged sitting with activity.
I'm Scott Przystas and I'm here to help get you moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of movement can do for you and the rest of your family.
So you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up and let's start moving.
For this movement activity we're going to be jumping using sticks or PVC pipes.
You can do this inside or outside.
We're gonna get warmed up with some arm circles.
We'll start going forward, big, and move into a little bit smaller and faster.
(soft music) Let's go backwards, big.
(soft music) Now let's go a little bit smaller.
(soft music) Okay, let's go across our body.
(soft music) And back in over our heads.
(soft music) And into heel taps.
(soft music) we go 30 seconds here.
Start it as a walk we'll move into a little jog to get the blood flowing.
(soft music) Good five, four, three, two, one.
Awesome, awesome.
I've set up four of my sticks or PVC pipes, We're gonna go through a few different challenges here.
The first time we're gonna lead with our right foot going in and going through each one, as quick as we can.
So here we go, lead with the right and lead with the right going back.
Okay let's go one more time through and lean with the left, and lean with the left lean left, good.
One foot in now and going back.
One more time through and here we go, excellent.
Hey, we're gonna face sideways now, so your toes are always facing parallel with the stick or the pipe, and we're gonna go two feet in facing sideways.
(soft music) Going back.
One more time.
(soft music) Excellent good.
Our next challenge is a shuffle.
Now we're not gonna go over the pipe or the hurdle we're going to go around, shuffling through.
So we're gonna go side.
(soft music) Good you get to the end.
(soft music) Let's go one more time through.
(soft music) Good, now let's try and do that backwards okay.
So standing in the middle side.
(soft music) Good.
(soft music) One more time.
(soft music) Backwards.
(soft music) A little coordination, a little bit of thinking with that one.
Now we're gonna work on our upper body.
We're gonna try to do pushup, walking through all the way down to the end and back just walking with our hands and our feet.
One more time.
(soft music) Good, change it up a little bit all right, we're gonna jump three forward and then one back on two feet, ready?
One, two, three, then one back.
One, two, good, going back.
One, two, three, one back.
One, two, then one more time.
One, two, three, one back good and then one, two, three, one back.
One, two, good.
Now let's work with some hopscotch.
We're gonna go two feet to one foot going all the way through alternating.
Two one, two, one, two.
Let's go back two one, two, one, two, one more time.
Two, one, two, one, two and back two, one, two, one, two.
Let's try it backwards ready hopscotch?
Two to one, two, one, two.
Two to one, two, one, two.
Good one more time and go a little faster if you can.
Two to one, two, one, two.
All right let's stretch it out.
We're gonna go to a downward dog, stretch it out.
Pedal out your feet.
(soft music) Good come through and push up.
(soft music) An upward dog.
(soft music) Then go ahead and sit back on your heels.
(upbeat music) Reaching forward.
(upbeat music) Come on up to one knee.
(upbeat music) And the other leg.
(upbeat music) Very good.
I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
