Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(indistinct chattering) - My name is Kim Ho, and I'm an Arizona native.
I'm Vietnamese American and my parents are both refugees.
My dad actually flew a helicopter in the Vietnam War and they ended up settling actually, in Arizona because that was where he could find contract work for being a helicopter pilot.
So they both did not speak English, and I think for a lot of immigrant kids, that's a very similar story.
When I was younger, I didn't want to be Asian.
I was not surrounded by a lot of other people that look like me.
And I think for me it's been something that's continuously evolving.
And I think as I grew older, I saw how amazing it was that my parents went through so much and how much I wanted to give back.
I think it's really created who I am in a very confident and strong way.
And so I'm really proud of it.
