Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(pen scratching) (child laughing) - Welcome to InPACT at Home, where we practice interrupting prolonged sitting with activity.
I'm Jamie Chester, and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of moving can do for you and the rest of your family, so you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up and let's start moving.
All right friends, we are gonna play some fun games today.
Today, we are gonna play a game called Land, Sea, Air.
But before we do that, let's do a little bit of Coach Says.
Coach says, "Jump two times," one, two, Coach says, "Jump one time," one, Coach says, "Jump two times," one, two, jump one time, ah, good job, nice try.
Let's try it again, Coach says, "Clap once," Coach says, "Clap twice," Coach says, "Clap once," clap twice, ah, good job, nice try.
Let's do one more.
Coach says, "Reach down low," Coach says, "Reach up high," Coach says, "Reach down low," reach up high, ah, good job, nice try.
All right, we are gonna get into our game, and this game you are going to have to keep on listening, just like the last game.
I might try to trick you, but, if I do and you make a mistake, that's okay.
We like to say, "Good job, nice try."
We can do our three, I'm awesomes, like this, I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
Or you could do three jumping jacks, like this, one, two, three.
And then you can get back in the game and keep on trying, as long as you're moving and having fun.
All right, so, I'm going to teach you how to play this game, Land, Sea, Air.
And the way that we play it is we're going to draw an imaginary line on the floor.
All right, we're gonna just, with our magic marker.
Also known as our finger.
We're just going to draw a imaginary line, all right?
And what we're going to do with that line is we are going to jump over it, either way, all right?
So right now we are behind the line, right now I'm in land, all right?
So draw your line and then make sure that you are behind it, and that you are in the land.
So this is land, but then when I say, "Sea," you're going to hop or jump or step over it, and go to sea.
Everyone show me sea, all right.
let's go back to the land.
Sea, like the sea, like the ocean.
Land, sea, land, land, sea, land.
Perfect, all right, now we're going to add one more.
When I say, "Air," wherever you're standing, you're just gonna jump up in the air.
Go as high as you can go.
So show me air, air, sea, land, sea, air, land, air, land, sea, land, land, air, land, sea, land.
All right, this time, I'm not going to do anything.
So you're gonna to do it all on your own, but you're still going to listen to the different actions that I say.
But this time you can't watch and see what I'm doing.
You're just going to have to listen, okay?
If you're ready, let me hear you say, "Oh yeah," if you're ready, touch your shoulders.
All right, here we go.
Land, sea, air, air, sea, land, land, oh, if you made a mistake, good job, nice try.
Do your three, I'm awesomes, I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
Or do your three jumping jacks, one, two, three.
All right, we are going to add one more move, this time, when I say, "Storm," we're going to just walk around, move around in our space.
You can go wherever you want to go, and go, "Ah!"
This is storm, ah!
All right, let's go back to land.
I'm gonna jump in and try this last round with you, so here we go.
Land, sea, land, sea, sea, air, air, storm, ah, ah!
Land, storm, ah, ah!
Sea, land, sea, land, air, air, storm, ah, ah!
Land, sea, storm, ah, ah!
Land, air, and land.
Great job, everyone, give yourself a round of applause.
All right, we are going to end our time together with a nice, deep breath, so I want everyone to take a deep breath in and out.
All right, and we are going to end with an appreciation clap.
I really want to show you my appreciation for you coming and getting active and moving around.
And we are going to do the seal of approval clap.
So we're going to go three, two, one, clap, and then like a seal, we're gonna go (imitates seal grunting) all right, here we go, three, two, one, (imitates seal grunting) I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
