Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(marker whooshing) (birds chirping) (child giggling) - Welcome to InPact at home, where we practice interrupting prolonged sitting with activity.
I'm Michelle Van Duyn and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of movement can do for you and the rest of your family so that you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up, and let's start moving.
For this movement activity, we're going to be playing an egg hunt game.
As you can see, I've hidden eggs all around the room.
Let's see what's inside.
Opening up this yellow egg and inside, it says to run for 30 seconds.
So, for 30 seconds, we're gonna run in place.
Go.
Move those feet nice and fast.
Good job.
We picked a hard one right off the bat.
We're gonna keep going for 15 seconds.
For 10, nine, eight, seven, six, five four, three, two, and one.
Let's find another one.
Choose blue, my favorite color.
This one says to do eight burpees.
All right, so we're gonna stand up, we're gonna crouch down.
Jump your feet out, together, jump up.
That's one.
Again, out, together, and up.
If that's too hard, you can walk it out.
We're at three.
Four.
I'm gonna go back to jumping.
Five.
Good job, keep it up.
Six.
Seven.
Last one and eight.
Great.
Let's grab this purple one.
See what's inside.
Oh, another jumping one.
Six jumping planks.
So go into a plank.
Make sure your wrists are underneath the shoulders.
Feet apart.
Jump them together and then back.
There are gonna be six of them.
One, two, three, four, five, and six.
Great job.
Let's see.
Let's grab a green one.
Open it up.
Inside, you have jumping jacks.
Only four of them.
That's a nice egg.
So jumping jacks, you go straight to star.
Straight to star.
So one, two, three, four, and done.
That was a quick one.
Let's grab this one.
What do we have this time?
Oh, no.
15 burpees.
Gotta love those burpees.
All right.
So, 15.
Here we go.
One.
Two.
And you can see, I alternate.
Three.
Sometimes, I jump up.
This is four.
Sometimes, I just stand up.
All right.
So your workout, you do the best you can.
I think we're at seven.
Eight.
Nine.
10.
11.
12.
13.
Oh, my.
14.
This one was a bad egg.
And 15.
Woo!
All right, let's try this one.
Open it up and we're gonna hope it's not burpees.
Yay.
19 line jumps.
So, choose a line on your floor or an imaginary line.
We're gonna jump over it 19 times.
Ready?
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19.
Let's see here.
Behind this pillow is a yellow egg and it's a big one.
And this time, we have 18 high kicks.
This will be a nice one after those burpees and jumps.
So, high kicks.
I'm gonna go to the side.
You take your leg, you keep it straight, kick it up, across your body.
So, I kick my opposite hand, that I switch legs.
So I'm at one.
Two.
Keep your core tight.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
If you have to keep it low because you're not very flexible, that's fine.
Nine.
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.
17 and 18.
All right, the next one.
Oh, we got a whole bunch of purple ones this way.
This time, we have five shoulder taps.
So we're gonna get into a plank position.
Wrists underneath elbows or shoulders.
You're gonna touch your opposite hand your opposite shoulder and switch.
So one, two, three, four, and five.
I like that purple row.
Let's go back to the purple eggs.
Grab another one.
You guys are doing awesome.
And oh, 16 jumping links.
We should be pretty pro at this by now.
So back on the ground.
Feet go apart and then back in together 16 times.
One, two, three, four.
Keep your back flat.
Six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. and 16.
Let's go to this side.
I'm feeling this is a lucky orange egg.
And inside, we are not so lucky.
30 mountain climbers.
All right, we're gonna do 15 regular and 15 modified.
So, regular mountain climbers.
One foot in front, one foot in back.
You're gonna jump it and switch.
So one, two, three, four, five, six, seven eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.
Modified, we're just gonna swing our legs up.
Three, four, five, six, seven.
Almost done.
10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.
All right, let's sneak one more egg in.
Hopefully, it's a good one.
Come on, pink.
Don't let me down.
Four squats.
We got lucky.
So feet equal with your shoulders.
Hands up.
You're gonna go one, two, three, and four.
Great job, you guys.
I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
