I'm Jamie Chester, and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of moving can do for you and the rest of your family so you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up, and let's start moving.
All right, friends, our game today is called night at the museum.
So we are going to transform our living room into a museum.
So you can think about what is your favorite museum, or if you went to a museum, what would you like to see inside of it?
Maybe we can pretend that our chair right here is a statue.
Maybe we can pretend that our couch over here is a giant woolly mammoth.
So you can take a couple seconds and think about what you want your museum to look like, and what you want to be inside of it.
And you are going to be a statue inside of this museum also.
So you can think about what kind of statue you wanna be, what kind of pose you want to make.
So take a couple seconds.
And then we are also going to imagine that it is nighttime in the museum and it is very dark and everyone is asleep, but I am the security guard at the museum.
And like I said before, you and your family that's playing with you also, they are the statues.
So you get to be a statue, and what's gonna happen is at nighttime, you come to life, right?
But I am going to be walking around with my flashlight and I'm gonna be checking to make sure that nothing is going on and that all the statues are frozen and still.
So when I turn around, that's when you get to move around the museum, you can move anywhere you want to, in your living room, you can walk, you can do a silly little dance, but then when I turn around like this with my flashlight, I'm gonna say freeze.
And then you have to try to freeze and stand still like a statue, all right?
I see you.
So if I see that you moved a little bit and you, you felt like you move a little bit, we're gonna say good job, nice try, and you're gonna do three I'm awesomes like this.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
Can you do that with me?
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
So if you moved, you do your three I'm awesomes, and then you can get back in the game and try again.
And I'll keep on looking and seeing if I can catch any of my statues.
If you're ready to play, let me see you put your hands on your head.
If you're ready to play, touch your knees.
All right, we are going to do a practice round.
So I'm gonna turn around and you can move, okay?
But when I turn back with my flashlight, you have to freeze.
All right.
Freeze!
All right, if there were any statues moving, let's do our three I'm awesomes.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, let's try it again.
Freeze!
All right, if I caught you moving, if were moving when I said freeze, let's do the I'm awesomes.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
Okay, we're gonna do a few more rounds.
When I'm turned around, you can do any of your favorite activities.
You can sit down and do some sit-ups, you can do some pushups, you could do some jumping jacks if it's safe to do that in your living room, you can do some heinies like we were practicing with our I'm awesomes where you get your knees up high.
You can do whatever you'd like.
Again, I like to always dance and do a little silly movement, but whatever kinda movement you wanna do, that's what you can do.
All right.
What's that noise, freeze!
Oh, I think I've seen some of my friends move.
Let's do the I'm awesomes.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, we're going to do two more rounds.
Here we go.
What's that noise, freeze!
All right, great job.
All my friends that moved, let's do it.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
All right, this is gonna be the last round.
Freeze!
That was a quick one.
All right, I know I caught some friends that time.
I'm awesome, I'm awesome, I'm awesome.
Do them with me.
Great.
All right, friends, let's make sure that our museum is looking good.
Looking good.
All right, and before we end our time together, we are gonna just cool down.
So I'd like you to reach down low to your toes.
Go as low as you can go.
Reach down low, reach up high to the sky.
Wiggle those fingers.
Nice, you can turn to one side and do a nice stretch.
Turn to the other side and do a nice stretch.
All right, shake it all out, shake it all out and freeze like a statue.
Let's try that again.
Shake it all up, shake it all up, and freeze like a statue.
Show me all your cool poses.
One more time, shake it all up, shake it all up, and freeze like a statue.
All right, now we are going to do our deep breathing exercise.
So again, we're going to pretend that our living room is now a field of flowers and just take a nice walk around, pick up that flower.
You're going to look at that flower.
Think about what color it is, how many petals it has on it.
Then you're gonna take a nice deep breath, smell it and blow it out.
All right, great job, friends.
For doing such an awesome job playing that game with me today.
We are going to give ourselves the looking good clap.
So on the count of three, we're gonna clap.
We're gonna make our mirror.
We're gonna look in that mirror and we're gonna say looking good, looking good.
Let's do it together.
Three, two, one, looking good, looking good.
I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
