NJ hits a solar energy milestone

Solar now powering almost a fifth of NJ households

New Jersey has reached five gigawatts of installed solar energy -- making a major milestone in the Garden State -- that is enough energy to power 700,000 households, according to New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities. This more than doubles the state’s solar energy output since 2017 when Gov. Phil Murphy took office.
