Toxic mud and sediment between Garfield and Belleville will be targeted for cleanup
The Environmental Protection Agency approved a plan Monday to deal with toxic mud in the Passaic River between Garfield and Belleville. It will happen in tandem with the already planned cleanup of 8.3 miles at the end of the river, from Belleville to Newark Bay.
