I grew up on a little ranch outside of Wheatland, Wyoming, where my family raises a cow calf operation.
We dont really need to go to college for stuff like that because everything we need to know and could ever learn really is right there on the ranch.
But when you're looking at going to college, you're looking at bettering your operations.
I'm just very thankful for the Scholarship Trust because there's a lot of students that apply for it every year, and I'm very fortunate to have received it all four years of my college.
We're giving out more than $550,000 a year to 120 students right now that are in the National Western Scholarship Trust.
It is funding schools in Colorado and Wyoming, in the field of rural medicine and agriculture.
Jowls, yeah.
So these are called jowls, right here.
The financial freedom that I've had, thanks to the Scholarship Trust, has been incredible.
I don't have to worry about paying for my college.
I just love ranching, love animal agriculture.
I love the fact that we get to feed the world.
So I really want to be involved in ag leadership and developing the new generation of agriculturalists.
Getting this degree, to me the biggest benefit is the fact that in ag leadership you don't see leaders that don't have a degree What kind of a digestive system does a hog have?
Yeah, simple, monogastric.
Most of the students that are benefiting from the National Western Scholarship Trust are coming from rural America and accepting those scholarships in hopes that they can go back and serve in rural America.
Seeing all these people that I know, my friends and good family, kind of struggling in the industry right now, and I kind of wanted to be that voice to learn more about ag and kind of help people understand about the industry that I love so much.
