I'm Jamie Chester and I'm here to help you get moving for the next eight minutes.
You'll be surprised at what these moments of movement can do for you and the rest of your family, so you can stay active and healthy at home.
So go ahead, get up and let's start moving.
All right, friends.
the game that we are going to play today is called Shipwreck.
What is it called?
Yeah, Shipwreck.
So the way that we play shipwreck is I'm going to be the captain and you all are my crew.
And as my crew, you are very important.
You have to listen to the different commands that I say so that we can make it on our trip.
A ship is a really, really, really big boat and we're on the boat together.
So we can pretend that our living room is a big ship.
And on our ship, we are sailing through the ocean while trying to find the treasure island.
So we have to follow the command.
So put your listening ears on now and get ready to listen and to play this game.
So I'm going to teach you the first three commands.
The first command is attention.
When I say attention, you're gonna stand up straight.
Put your hand on your head and say, aye captain.
Let's try that together, ready?
Attention, aye captain.
The second command is swab the deck.
When I say swab the deck, you're going to take out your mop and you're gonna walk around your space and you're going to clean the floor.
You're gonna pretend you're mopping the floor, but you get to sing a song with it too.
So you're going to go swab the deck, hey swab the deck, hey.
Swab the deck, hey.
All right, that is swab the deck.
And the third command is going to be seaweed.
When I say seaweed, you're gonna sit down criss cross applesauce, put your hands up in the air and act like some slimy seaweed under the sea.
All right, if you're ready let me see two thumbs up.
Okay, here we go.
Swab the deck.
Swab the deck, hey.
Swab the deck, hey.
Swab the deck, hey.
Swab the deck, hey.
Attention.
Aye captain.
Swab the deck.
Swab the deck, hey.
Swab the deck, hey.
Seaweed.
Sit down, get down low.
Seaweed, seaweed.
Swab the deck.
Swab the deck, hey.
Swab the deck, hey.
Attention.
Aye captain.
All right, we are gonna kick it up a notch and we're gonna add some more commands.
All right, you all are doing a great job.
Our next command is going to be starfish.
When I say starfish, you're gonna look like a starfish and you're going to spread your legs out and put your arms straight out like this.
Let me see your starfish, great.
The next command is going to be look out.
When I say look out, you're gonna pretend that you're all the way at the top of the ship and you're looking out and making sure that the sea is safe.
So you're gonna take out your look out and you're gonna actually try and stand on one foot.
See if you can do that like this.
Oh, it's tricky.
You could try your other foot too.
All right, that is the lookout.
And then the last and final command is baby shark.
And when I say baby shark, you're going to try and get back to where you usually sit.
So think about where do you usually take a seat and watch TV?
You could sit on your couch.
You could sit on a chair or you can even just sit on the floor.
But when I say baby shark, you wanna try to as quickly and safely as possible get to that spot.
All right, let's try it all together.
Swab the deck.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
Attention.
Aye captain.
Starfish.
swab the deck.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
Seaweed.
Oh, let's get down low.
Starfish.
Lemme see your star fish.
Look out.
Now try to balance.
You got there.
Try the other foot.
swab the deck.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
Star fish.
Sea weed Star fish Let's go quick.
Sea weed swab the deck.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
swab the deck, hey.
Look out.
Baby shark (screaming) Star fish.
Baby shark.
(screaming) Attention.
Aye captain.
All right, guess what crew, we made it to the treasure Island.
We can get off our ship and go try and find our treasure.
You all did a great job playing that game today.
If you're feeling good, let me see your hands on your head.
If you'd like to play that game again, let me see you touch your knees.
All right, you could play that game again with your family.
You could all take turns being the captain, and you can think of different commands that you wanna add to the game.
You could be a school of fish and you swim around like a little fish.
You could be say a pirate and all become pirates.
So think about what you want to add to that game and play it again with your family today.
Before we leave, we're gonna take a nice deep breath.
So I'd like you all to do a volcano breath with me.
You'll put your arms up high and you're going to breathe in.
Breathe in like this, and then let the lava out and breathe out.
(breathing) One more time.
Put your arms up high, breathe in and let the lava out.
(breathing) All right, thanks again for playing.
We're gonna give ourselves the strong clap.
So on the count of three, we're gonna clap and then flex our muscles and go.
(howling) Do whatever pose makes you feel strong.
Strong clap on three, one, two, three.
(clapping) (howling) I hope you enjoyed today's movement break.
