- And now all you can feel, do, or think is the opposite of that word?
- Then call us.
I'm Sly.
- And I'm Gabby.
We're word detectives and we solve- - [Both] Word mysteries.
- Together, we run the Wordsville Online Detective Agency.
- We'll find your missing word fast.
- Not to mention, briskly.
- And swiftly.
- Yeah, we're really good with words.
- [Sly And Gabby] Wordsville!
- Ready, Gabby?
You said we could watch my favorite movie today, "Dog Detectives 3, Begging for the Truth."
- I did say that, but no, I don't think I will anymore.
- Huh, maybe I won't either.
(phone chiming) - It's Athlete Glory.
Do you think she needs a word mystery solved?
- Probably, but do we have to?
I don't wanna solve any word mysteries today.
- Neither do I.
But that's not like us, Sly.
We made a promise to the town of Wordsville that we'd find their missing words fast.
Yeah, not to mention briskly and swiftly.
(phone chiming) - She's gonna keep calling.
- Word detectives!
I was starting to think you'd never answer, but I'm so glad you did.
My day planner has disappeared.
This one.
- [Gabby] Your day Planner says "Commitments?"
- A commitment is like a promise you've made or a responsibility you have.
- Exactly.
Right now I'm supposed to be leading a yoga class, but I can't follow through on any of my promises.
- That's because with the word "commitments" gone, no one can make or keep any promises.
- Yeah.
We're all ignoring our responsibilities.
- Sly, that's why we don't wanna find any missing words today.
- But you'll find the word "commitments" for me, right?
- Maybe.
Or maybe we'll play video games instead.
- Wait, we can't play video games.
Our controllers are still broken.
- Oh yeah.
Scientist Cosmo said he'd fix them today.
- He also said he would invent a fast-drying towel for me.
I get so sweaty when I work out.
- Hmm, if we solve this case, I bet Scientist Cosmo will keep his commitments.
- So that means he'll fix our controllers.
- And invent my towel.
Did I mention how sweaty I get?
- You sure did.
Okay, tell us everything and Sly will animate it.
- [Sly] Recap time.
- So Scientist Cosmo and Artist Clay were at the gym doing our weekly Wordsville workout.
I was surprised because they hadn't been very committed to coming every week.
After our workout, I was sweaty, naturally, so I went to get changed.
But when I got back, they were both gone and so was my day planner.
Here's where I left my day planner.
Aren't you gonna take a screenshot for your case notes?
- Yeah, sure, sure.
But I can't commit to doing anything with it.
- You are gonna solve my case, right?
- We'll see.
- No promises.
Gabby, we could try to solve this case or we could sing some karaoke.
- Yes!
No, Sly, I think we need to watch this.
- Together, we run the Wordsville Online Detective Agency.
- We'll find your missing word fast.
- Not to mention briskly.
- And swiftly!
Sly, we're word detectives.
We have to fight our lack of commitment and keep our promise.
- Okay, but I'm committed to singing, so I'll sing our case notes.
♪ We know ♪ Oh, forget it.
I don't wanna sing anymore.
I can't commit to anything.
- Push through it.
- We know what happened.
Athlete Glory's Commitment Day Planner is gone.
Now nobody is doing what they promised to do.
- Where it happened was the gym, and it happened when Athlete Glory changed clothes after a workout.
- Scientist Cosmo and Artist Clay are the suspects.
Who did it, how, and why is another story.
- [Gabby] For clues, there's some clay and a piece of paper with a list of names.
Some are crossed out.
- I'm clueless on these clues.
Let's see what Scientist Cosmo tells us.
(phone chiming) - Scientist Cosmo?
You seem different.
- I am.
I've pretty much given up on all my experiments and inventions and I'm not doing anything I promised to do for myself or anyone else.
- Like fix our game controllers?
- Or invent Athlete Gloria a fast-drying towel.
- Right, and that's not all.
I had made so many commitments to do stuff for other people that I had to make a list of all the people that I had promised to help out.
- A list of names, like the one that was left in the gym?
- Oh yes.
I must have left it there by accident.
I've just been so overwhelmed.
But I haven't had time to work on my own inventions or even make my workouts with Athlete Glory.
- That must a been harsh.
- It was, but now I'm not doing any of it.
Well, off to do nothing or something.
Not anything I promised to do.
See ya.
- Hmm, he said he was overwhelmed by all of his commitments.
- Like the one he made to us.
- But now he seems super relaxed.
Let's call Artist Clay next.
(phone chiming) Is that a sculpture, Artist Clay?
- It's supposed to be a firetruck sculpture that I promised to make for Firefighter Ember, but I can't seem to finish it.
- A lot of that going around today.
- Tell us why you were at the gym today.
- Athlete Glory's helping me get fit.
It takes lots of energy to make sculptures, see?
But even though it's usually easy for me to commit to making art every day, it's harder for me to commit to working out once a week.
- And how do you feel about that?
- Terrible.
I don't like when I don't keep my commitments, but I did work out today, so that's something.
I should go wash my hands if I'm not gonna finish this sculpture.
Bye!
- Did he take the day planner?
- As word detectives, we're committed to answer that question.
- Or we can make music.
(tambourine shaking) (drum pounding) - We gotta fight it.
- Case notes time.
- [Sly] Artist Clay feels guilty for not being committed.
- [Gabby] Maybe he took the word so he wouldn't feel bad?
- [Sly] And Scientist Cosmo had too many commitments.
- Maybe he took the word so he didn't have to do everything he promised to do.
- [Sly] The clay matches Artist Clay's sculpture.
- [Gabby] And scientist Cosmo left the list of people he was committed to helping.
- But wait!
- Why did he leave the list at the gym if he was planning to keep all his commitments?
- I think we just cracked it.
- Will you animate a reenactment?
- Part of me wants to say, "Meh," but it is my favorite part so, yes!
(phone chiming) Now presenting the word mystery, animated reenactment of The Case of the Commitment Crunch.
- Phew, I'm glad you came.
That was a great workout.
I'm so sweaty.
Scientist Cosmo, remember to invent that fast-drying towel for me soon.
- It's on my list.
My long list of commitments.
- I keep all my commitments in my day planner.
I better go get changed and ready for my next one.
Hope to see you both next week.
- Thanks Athlete Glory.
I'll try to stay committed to our workouts.
- How does Athlete Glory keep all her commitments?
Hmm.
Maybe we could both use a break.
- Scientist Cosmo's who did it.
(gasping) - How could you?
- Ugh, what happened to not committing to things?
- He did it when he was alone in the gym.
- He just grabbed the planner and left, that's how he did it.
Artist Clay wanted to keep his commitments.
- But Scientist Cosmo wanted a break from his.
That's why he did it.
- Okay.
Yes, I did it.
I took the day planner.
I was just so overwhelmed by everything I committed to and wanted a break.
I'm sorry I made it so that no one could keep their commitments.
I'll bring back your day planner now.
(phone chiming) - It's so good to have the word "commitments" back and to have Wordsville back to normal.
- Scientist Cosmo, we're sorry if we made you feel overwhelmed.
- We know you can't take on everything.
- And don't worry, we figured out how to fix our controllers.
- They just needed batteries.
(Scientist Cosmo laughing) - And I'll just use a regular towel or three.
Again, I get very sweaty.
- Thanks everyone.
And from now on, I'll speak up if I can't commit to something.
- [Glory, Cosmo, Clay] Thanks word detectives.
- Another word mystery solved!
Is it time to watch "Dog Detective part three?"
- Absolutely.
I keep all my commitments.
