- And now all you can feel, do, or think is the opposite of that word?
- Then call us!
I'm Sly.
- And I'm Gabby.
We're Word Detectives, and we solve... - [Gabby and Sly] Word mysteries!
- Together, we run the Wordsville Online Detective Agency.
- We'll find your missing word fast.
- Not to mention, briskly.
- And swiftly.
- Yeah, we're really good with words.
- [Children] Wordsville!
(ringtone chiming) - Hey, Gabby, I know what we should do while we wait for someone to call, watch cat videos!
- Play video games!
- Oh, come on, Gabby.
I can think of 50 million reasons for cat videos, cuteness, laughter, mischief.
Huh, that's weird, I can't think of anymore.
- Good, 'cause now it's my turn to convince you to play games.
Except I can't think of anything, either.
Sly, is this a word mystery?
(computer chiming) - Maybe Baker Graham knows.
(computer beeps) - Word detectives, help!
- Baker Graham, are you okay?
Why are you on crutches?
- I sprained my ankle, but that's not why I need your help.
Someone took the recipe card for my Persuasion Pie.
See, this is it.
- [Gabby] That recipe card definitely says Persuasion on it.
- [Sly] Persuasion means the act of convincing someone to do something, usually by giving them good reasons to do it.
- With the word persuasion missing, no one in town will be able to persuade anyone to do anything.
- This is why I couldn't convince you to watch some purr-fect cat videos.
- And why I couldn't persuade you to play video games.
- This is a word mystery.
But, Baker Graham, what is a Persuasion Pie?
- It's one of my delicious treats.
It smells so good.
I can always convince people to take a little bite.
That's why I call it Persuasion Pie.
But now it's gone!
- Well, luckily, you don't need to convince us to take the case.
- Tell us what happened, and I'll animate it.
Recap time!
- I sprained my ankle and can't move around that much.
So I had persuaded Singer Melody to help me make some Persuasion Pies for my customers.
I also convinced Athlete Glory to help me do some things around the bakery I can't do right now.
And when I went to fix my bandage, they both left, and somebody took my Persuasion Pie recipe card.
See, this is where I last saw my recipe card.
- [Sly] I'm saving this screenshot of the scene of the mystery.
(camera shutter clicks) - Baker Graham, we'll get your recipe card back before you know it.

Someone took Baker Graham's (keyboard clicking) Persuasion Pie recipe card.
- Now no one could persuade or convince anyone to do anything.
- We know where it happened, the bakery.
(keyboard clicks) - And it happened when Bakery Graham went to adjust his bandage.
- [Gabby] Singer Melody and Athlete Glory are the suspects.
- We have to find out who did it, how, and why.
The clues are crumbs and a rolling pin.
- Let's call Athlete Glory.

- That's super nice of you.
- I was happy to help my friend, plus, Baker Graham said we could have some pie when we were done, but I didn't get any.
- Why not?
- Because Athlete Glory was helping Baker Graham around the bakery, and every time she finished one task, he stopped making pies with me to persuade her to do something else for him.
And it happened again, and again, and again.
- Did that bother you?
- Bother me, no.

(computer chiming) - Hi, Word Detectives.
Is there a word mystery I can help you with?

- Not enough, I was hoping to get some for helping Bakery Graham at the bakery today, but I never did.
- What did you do at the bakery?
- Anything he couldn't do with his sprained ankle.
I carried flour sacks to the back, and then when I was done, he persuaded me to stack some cans of frosting, and then asked me to move some bushels of apples.
He just kept on persuading me to help him.
It just kept happening.
- How did you feel about that?
- Well, I was very happy to help, but then I got hungry.
And when I get hungry, I can get hangry, hungry and angry.
But I managed to have a few lemon tarts before that happened.

But I left because I had to wash my hands.
They got really sticky.
Actually, they still are.

Even later than that... - [Gabby] I have to fix my bandage, but we'll be able to eat some pie soon.
