What an exiting night it must have been when Jesus was born.

The promise that a saviour would be born was now a reality.

And yet, Christ's great triumph over the darkness of this world was a humble one.

Born to poor parents in a cattle barn His coming was not for show.

He came almost imperceptibly, yet magi from the east followed a star to His birthplace, and shepherds left their flocks in search of Him.

Tonight, that wondrous star is still shining its light on our path, leading us on to new triumphs.

All is calm, all is bright.

Round yon virgin, mother and child, Holy Infant, so tender and mild.
